The counties are subdivided into hundreds. An old explanation is an area large enough to furnish 100 men for protection. Murderkill hundred is along the Murderkill river, kill is a derivative of Dutch or Swewdish for creek or river. The Mispillion river is the souther border of Mispillion hundred and also the Kent, Sussex county border. Hope this helps.
