Because you are talking late 1600s, and said a family "sold out and went to Cumberland County, NJ" I believe you may want to post on "Mitsawokett.com." The site was created to help possible descendants of Lenni-Lenape or Nanticoke Indians trace their genealogies. It is NOT a catch-all for general Native American issues, nor for all geographies, but instead focused on the Delaware-Maryland-Jersey areas. A Settlement called Mitsawokett existed in northern Kent County until around 1700. Many of its disenfranchised people went to NJ, particularly the Bridgeton area in Cumberland County. Some Lenapes and Nanticokes remain in the Cheswold and Millsboro areas of Delaware, including current Nanticoke chief Kenneth Clark. - Dolores Langley Solberg of Marydel (formerly of Millville NJ)
