Frances Henrietta Pickett-York, 85, of Pinehurst died Friday, April 28, 2006, at her home.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst. The family will receive friends following the service. Inurnment will be private.
Mrs. Pickett-York was born on April 7, 1921, in Orlando, Fla. to the late Eugene Heitter and Elizabeth Ann Schurr.
She worked for the United States government for 42 years, and was a member of the Pinehurst Country Club as well as the Pinehurst Garden Club. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was the wife of the late Ralph Eugene Pickett.
She is survived by her daughter, Martie Waldron, of Clermont, Fla.; her sister, Elizabeth Ann White, of Detroit, Mich.; two grandsons, Eric Beale, of Adelphia, Md., and Mark Beale of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
