Am searching for connections for Patrick SWEENEY, born about 1832 in Ireland. Appears in the 1870 census for New York County as a 31-year-old bookbinder living on Gaerck (?) Street in NYC.

In the 1880 census, Patrick appears as a 35-year-old bookbinder living on Grand Street, NYC. Married to Mary. Children, Amanda, 3; William, 2; John, 9 months.

In the 1900 census, Patrick is living in Washington DC, still binding books. Mary, wife, and children Amanda, 23 and Joseph,16 appear in the household.

In 1901, Joseph and Amanda sponsor John Paul HOFFMAN, Jr., at his baptism at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Church, DC. John Paul's mother is Mary Florence SWEENEY.

In 1910, Patrick, 75, continues to live in DC, with wife Mary, and children Joseph, 26, and John P. 25.

All of Patrick's children were born in New York

We believe Patrick may be Mary Florence SWEENEY's father; William, John, Joseph and Amanda her siblings.
