My John Ramsey was a member of the Regulator movement in Orange County, NC. After the Battle of Alamance (1771), they would have moved toward Columbia County, GA, their ultimate destination and perhaps passed right through the Waxhaw section. Old family scuttlebut says they left one brother in SC...could be related to these. That is a big rock I have not looked under, yet, as I have my main Ramsey line on down from there. I'm taking a break from that line and trying to whip this Solomons line into shape. Thanks for the idea...I'll take a look at Waxhaw next time I go downtown to the archives.
