I just had the opportunity to help my aunt with some of this research. Brooks Dawson is her grandfather. We were able to obtain a copy of Albert's death certficate, which lists his middle name as "Curry". We also found reference to his parents, William Dawson and Mary Parsons, and their birthplace was listed as Delaware. We were unable to find any reference to their marriage at the Delaware Archives..maybe your notes of their birthplace being in Virginia is accurate and we should try there.
