I really appreciate your reply to my post. I am so glad to see that I am not the only one who sees a bit of a tangle with the Dawsons! I would love to have more information on this family.
My records show the same children of Benjamin and Mary as you post here. I do show that George Washington Dawson was married to Patsy Coffey, however. Is Ann Wade a second wife? I also show that Milly Dawson was married to Job Sweeney, not Toby. I obtained that information from census records. I show Sally as married to Isaiah Haynes and Polly married to Ned Drake. Additionally, I show a son, John, but I have no information on him at all. I am not at all certain that what I have is correct, so please forgive me if I am citing obvious errors.
My ancestor is Sarah Ann Stephens (our family shows the name as Stephens rather than Stevens, but I've seen it both ways) who married Alpheus Keyes in Liberty on 20 Feb 1851 and relocated to Albany, Gentry, Missouri by 1855 when my g-g grandmother, Mildred Jane Keyes was born. Mildred married William M. Greenway, who also has a
Stevens/Stephens connection.
