Dawkins was born in Moore Co., NC 8 Oct. 1892 to James Elijah and Martha Ann Cole Dawkins and died at Troy, Montgomery Co., NC 21 Jan. 1968. She married Opie Blevin Freeman who was born 6 Apr. 1890 and died 22 Mar. 1930. They are buried in the Shady Grove Christian Church Cemetery in Montgomery Co.
