Deb, Sorry for delay; eyes off-line for a while. The George Dawkins you mention born in 1727 was assuredly the father of the Pr Wm VA/ Newberry SC William we are researching. Do you have any clues to who William's mother may have been? SC records show RW payments to Mrs. Chloe and Mrs. Elizabeth Dawkins. There is no clear distinction as to whom each was married although William named a daughter Chloe. Would be nice to have DAR recognize a woman's participation. Thanks, JT
