William Dawes- mid 1800's -Ind/Ark

Am looking for information on William Dawes. Little is know except that he was possibly born in Indiana in the mid-1800's. He married Henrietta Rodgers and they lived around Sheridan, Arkansas. They had 4 children - Chester Lee (b. 1870), Emma, Annie, and Joe Beale. Only Chester Lee and Emma (who married Robert Wallace) had children.

Rumor is that William was a professional gambler who disappeared in the middle of the night leaving a pregnant Henrietta.

Henrietta soon died, and the 4 children were raised by her parents.

Any information would be appreciated.
