I am researching the family of Thomas Andrew Dawes. He emmigrated to Canada from England in 1808, and settled in Lachine, Quebec, Canada in 1811. He started the first industy in Lachine, "Dawes Brewery". His children and grandchildren continued in the buisness for many years. In 1915 Dawes Brewery became National Breweries, and then became the much more famous "Dow Breweries".

Thomas Dawes and his descendants became very wealthy, and it seems, had a large family.

I am currently researching the Dawes family though the Montreal Church records. There are a number of historical buildings in Lachine, Quebec, which are the remains of Dawes Brewery.

One of my wife's relatives married into the Dawes family. If any descendants are around, I would like to hear from you.
