my grandmother was Elizabeth Burton Dawes (married Allard Sanders) I believe the Burton was from her mother's maiden name.....her family hailed from Missouri but she spent most of her adult life in the D.C. and Maryland area.....2 children, Donna & Allard, Jr (Buddy) Her mother and other family women were members of D.A.R. and supposedly my great great great ,etc, grandfather was Billy Dawes who rode with Paul Revere on his famous Midnight Ride
