I have a William Dawe b c 1788 on my tree who is proving extremely elusive. He married a Johanna Hunt in Blackawton in 1816 and they both died in Stoke Fleming - William in 1835 and Johanna in 1867. They had eight children one of whom was Marina b 1823 who is my ggg grandmother.
I have an extensive Dawe tree covering the Devon area but so far, despite exhaustive efforts, I have been unable to locate the parents of William.
There was another William Dawe b 1788 in Tamerton Foliot who married a Joanna Atwell in Meavy but he is not mine despite a lot of his family names being very similar.
If anyone has any connections or ideas I should be most grateful.
