I agree, I always thought Dawe was an unusual name until I started checking the Message Boards.I'm not sure, but wouldn't we be all related, albeit distantly? My Dawe line began in Cornwall, England - at least that's as far as I've been able to trace.Alfred John Dawe was born in 1872 in Camelford. His parents were Richard Dawe and Jane Leming.I took this from a birth certificate and verified it again on a census, at least the DOB.He moved to Yorkshire and was there many years before emigrating to America.Where is Co. Louth in Ireland? The history of the country would affect emigration to England, etc.Talk to as many older relatives as possble and write down as much as you can.Organize your information into families.(My apologies if I'm telling you something you already know; that's one of my defects.)Good luck, Paul
Let me know what you find out.jld
