Dear Gary,
I know what you mean about the s appearing and then dis-
appearing -either a single or double "s" ------- I wonder-
ed if in the case of relatives in Harrison Co, MO this
was a practical thing to know where to send mail, etc.
This has been the situation in other families.
Also, another reason is to seperate as to not identify with
for whatever reason, that side of the family. Say a mur-
der. There is a hanging of Harry W Davison (1882 born)
(died 1924) 4 months after being married a suicide. A
scrapbook contains clippings that I am trying to track down.
Have you heard of this?
