Darla - Not sure if I can help you or not. My great grandfather was Lafayette Davisson, from Dubois, Martin and Davies County. He died July, 1943 in Davies Co. He married Harriett Tarr in 1878. Hattie and Lafayette had two sons, my grandfather Virgil O. and Austin ( born Samuel Austin, but always referred to as Austin by my father). After Hattie's death, Lafayette married a Eltha Youngblood. Lafayette died in July of 1943 in Davies County IN. Lafayette's father was Andrew Jackson, b. 1831 in VA (now WV) came to Pike, then Dubois Co. IN from Vinton Co. OH sometime between 1850 and 1860. He was always referred as Jackson or Jack ( his father was also Andrew, b. 1789) Jackson died in 1920 in Martin Co. IN. My father, who is 89 remembers all these relatives, especially Austin. There is no Richard in this direct line in the 6 or 7 generations I have been able to verify.

If this is the line you are referring to, let me know as I have a lot of information on the family.
