I am looking for information about H. B. Davison (Henry or Hiram; not sure) who was listed in the Special California Census on July 18, 1852 doing business at 219 Main Street, Weaverville, Trinity County, California as a "drug and book store".This business will celebrate its 150th anniversary in July 1852, known as the Weaverville Drug Store.
According to a biography written about 1858, Davison and his parents came from Ireland to the United States; the son returned to Ireland to school, then returned to the U.S. He was apprenticed to a physician (or studied with a doctor) and later taught school. He left for California from Louisiana. He was in Weaverville until about 1858, was heard from a few times between 1858 and 1896, when there was a story that he had lived in Los Gatos, California.
I have no idea when he died, and would greatly like to have more information. He died after 1896, according to the TRINITY JOURNAL, the newspaper of Trinity County, California.
I will locate the biography and other records and have them ready for a reply.
