I beleive Pearson was a fairly common name in Northern England. None of my British ancestors came to the US prior to 1928 so the chances of a connection on the Pearson name are rather slim.
It seems nearly all the Davison, Davidson, & Davisson names can be traced to Northern England or Southern Scotland (Newcastle area) It is usually not too difficult to trace back to about 1800, but quite difficult to get to 1700.
