Great information. This is the first time I've seen reference to Hickman in SC other than War of 1812 records. He is listed in McWillies 2nd Regiment SC Militia as a private. His name is listed however as Hiekm on the internet. I have his war records and on these he is listed as Hickman. Also listed as privates in this regiment are, Lummie Davis and Robert Davis. Would be interesting to know if this is the same Robert listed as a buyer on Rachel Davis' estate. I have found no record of "Lummie". Probably short for Columbus.
