Daniel Davis 1801-1866, was born in Buxton, ME. where he married and had three children before moving to NH. I'm trying to prove/disprove that the oldest son was DAVID DAVIS, who, according to a family bible, was b. 1824 in Buxton, ME.

Only three Davis households were in Buxton in 1830, and only the family of Daniel had sons that could have included David. HOWEVER, a lot could have happened between 1824 when David was born, and the 1830 census. Proof requires something more.

1830 Census Buxton,ME shows Daniel Davis with wife + 3 kids 1-m....0-5.....1-f...0-5
2-m....5-10
1-m...30-40....1-f 30-40

Sometime after the census of 1830, Daniel moved his family to Berlin, Coos Co. NH.

1840 Census in Coos Co. NH Daniel Davis with wife + 6 kid 2-m...10-15....1-f...0-5
2-m...15-20....1-f...5-10
1-m...30-40....1-f...40-50

Below, is a list of Daniel Davis & wife Hannah's 6 kids still living at home during census of 1850. Dob's based on ages at time of census.

Bailey K ..1826...Buxton, ME
Frankford..1828...Buxton
Hollis.....1830...NH
Columbus...1832...NH
Albina.....1834...NH
Mary.......1836...NH

David married in 1849 and 1850 census reports him with wife and new baby in Cambridge, MA. Any ideas how to find out if he belongs with Daniel's family? I need a will, probate, etc. that might help, but how to find? Any help, VERY much appreciated.

Joanne
