My great-great-grandmother was born Susan W. Davis in Smyrna, Delaware, on Aug. 20, 1844. I presume -- but am not certain -- that her father was from Smyrna, though I don't know his first name. Her mother's maiden name was Rebecca Scroggy (almost certainly born in New Jersey). Susan Davis grew up to marry Thomas A. Harris of Philadelphia and she died in that city in 1927.
Does anyone with any knowledge of Davises in Smyrna know of a branch of the family that had a Susan born ca. 1844? I'm trying to unearth any information that could help me identify her father and his Davis line. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks.
