In the 1880 US Census of Friendship Township, Crockett County, Tennessee there is a household of R J Davis listed. The household is as follows:
name,(race,gender,age,relationship to head-of-house, birth state, father's birth state, mother's birth state)
R J Davis (w,m,59,PA,TN,TN)
A H Davis (w,f,40,wife,TN,TN,TN)
T F Davis (w,f,17,daughter,TN,PA,TN)
Infant (w,f,2/12,daughter,TN,PA,TN) - Born in May
P H Gleason (w,m,20,stepson,TN,TN,TN)
A L Gleason (w,f,18,stepdaughter,TN,TN,TN)
I am looking for clarification on who this family is. There is speculation that A H is Henrietta A Vaden who married John E Gleason. If this is true, then P H would be Peter/Patrick Henry Gleason, the infant would be Bertie Gleason (most likely R J's daughter, although she went by Gleason throughout her life), and A L would be a daughter of John Gleason and Henrietta Vaden who died young.
Does any of this 'ring a bell' for any of you.
