Thanks again, for trying to help me. Yes, the Davises are difficult. What I need is to prove the parents of David Davis. I know he was born in Buxton in 1824, and I have all of his descendants well documented via bible, letters, wills and census. I'd like to be able to prove his tie to parents, grandparents, etc. I hate to rely just on my mental deductions... they've proved me wrong in the past. I'm inclined to believe his father was Daniel Davis, and it looks like Daniel and his wife Sarah + his father Sylvanus all moved from Buxton, ME to Coos Co.NH Right now, I'm going through census returns to find out when Daniel left Buxton. This looks like him: 1840 Berlin, Coos Co. NH 2-m 5-10 1-f 5-10 2-m 10-15 My David would have been 16 in Apr. No enumeration date on census image. 1-m 30-40 1-f-40-50 Daniel would have been 40, and since 1860 census shows Sarah 2 yr. older so this fits. Can find Daniel and Sarah --apparently empty-nesters-- in 1860, but not 1850. Do you know how/where to find vital stats for ME online? Joanne Notify Administrator about this message?
