Terrific! Thanks. Looks like David H. MAY be man I'm looking for. My bottom line is finding the family of David Davis, b. 1824 in Buxton, ME. In checking census of 1830, I found only one Davis who had sons that could include my David.

1830 Buxton, York Co. ME
Daniel Davis 1-male 30-40 1-fem 30-40
1-male 0-5 1-fem 0 -5
2-male 5-10

My David (1824-1883) m. Mary E. Jaquith in Cambridge, MA 1849. Children were Helen(1850) Estella (1857), and Maud(1860). Have tried using their middle names as clues, --Francis, McCloud and Douglas-- but no luck.

David and Mary moved to Glencoe MN. after Helen was born. Helen is my husband's g. grandmother, and he has memories of her bringing him ice cream when he was quite little. I've been able to trace all of his ancestors ACCEPT the Davises. Exasperating. Thanks to you, I may finally have a solid lead. Now if I can just find proof!

Joanne
