Karen,
I'll send you some information here so it is in a public forum. As I had told you, I was going to do additional research on this family.

Found Francis (Frank) A. Davis living in Omaha, Douglas Co., NE in the 1880 Federal and 1885 State census. In both records Frank was listed as a "Hotel keeper" and in further searching the Hotel was the Pacific Hotel 208 N 10th Street in Omaha.

In addition to the other children already listed they had Mamie who was born in Omaha ca 1874. In searching the Douglas county records, I found the additional info: (all of the records were of poor penmanship and very hard to read some of the names.)

Ada H. Davis married 16 July 1880 in Omaha to Elison (?) M. Hornsby, age 28 born Ohio and son of Littleton and Sarah (Marshall) Hornsby.

Jennie Davis married 13 Apr 1883 in Omaha to John H. Cokeroft, age 43 born South Carolina and son of Abram and Mary Hohuls (?).

William H Davis, married 20 Feb 1892 to Miss Lulu Frazier (?), age 24 born Nebraska (parents not listed).

I searched all the marriage index records for Davis from 1856 to 1900 and did not find the other two children.

Harriet C. (Barrett) Davis died 15 Jan 1896 and I found her obituary in the Sunday World Herald of 19 Jan 1896, page 2, col. 2 under Local Brevities, to wit:
Mrs. H.C. Davis, wife of Frank A. Davis, quietly passed away Wednesday Jan 15, at her home 1008 N 16th Street, and was interred Friday at Prospect Hill. She leaves five children, Mrs. A. Hornsby and Mrs. J. Cokeroft of this city, Mrs. C.F. Fingling(?) of Lexington, Mo, and Mrs. R.G. Maus(?) and Mr. William Davis living in California. The family wish to thank all friends for their help and sympathy in their bereavement, and also the ladies of the Woman's Relief corps of the Grand Army of the Republic.

The question marks are due to the poor quality of the film, I was unable to be sure of what the last names were. I'll try to check another source later.

Harriet C. Davis was buried by permit #6722 in Grave 10 of the the S 1/2 of Lot 418, 1st Addition to Prospect Hill. The application was signed by daughter Jennie Cokeroft. Prospect Hill is a historical pioneer cemetery in Omaha located about 32nd St. and Parker Ave.(1900 North) There is not a tombstone on any of that Lot even though I think all 12 graves were used. The south 1/2 was owned by Hornsby and the only names that meant anything to me was a Nellie Hornsby died 4/25/82 and an Iola Davis died 12/30/91. I do not know who either of these people are yet.
