Hi Sharen,
The William Davies on my family line has only said he was born in Kerry/Ceri on the 1851 census when he was 12. I have not found the family in Montgomery or Shropshire in 1841 as yet. In 1861 our William was 21 unmarried and said he was born Newtown not Kerry and working as a woolen slubber. His parents were Harriet born Worthen in Shropshire and John, born Trefeglwys and later said Newtown. Kerry/Ceri was the parish south-west of Newtown parish and a road linked the two. In 1871 William was not with the family and I lost definite track of him as there were many William Davies born Newtown working in the woolen industry at that time. He had two brothers John and Maurice and several sisters including my Harriet.
Hope this helps you with your search.
Regards,
Pat
