Reese Davies, Jr. born about 1835 in Wales, d. about 1881, possibly in Wyoming. He married Elizabeth Griffiths about 1854 in Dodgeville, Iowa County, Wisconsin. His wife, Elizabeth Griffiths was a dau. of David Griffiths and Nancy Evans and was born in 1837 in Carmarthenshire, South Wales, d. in 1911, Cheyenne, Wyoming. They worked on construction train for U.P. RR, ran the dining car for the workers. After his death at age 45, Elizabeth ran a boarding house in Laramie.
I have an old letter dated in 1911 after Elizabeth's death from an Edward Davies in Colorado, to her daughter Mattie, J. Davies Roberts, addressing her as "niece." Would like to know and correspond with siblings' descendants of Reeese Davies. Possibly a Jack, and a sister Jane, married name unknown. Reese and Elizabeth Davies were my gg grand parents. I was raised in Wyoming, never knew of Davies relatives in Colorado until I was given these old letters.
