Hi Peggy,
This could be a possible connection. My ggrandparents were Richard William Davies or William Richard Davies. He married Eliza Mercer. According to my mother and my aunt they came from Liverpool England and settled in Birmingham Alabama "Ensley City". Richard worked in the steel mills and all I can piece together is Eliza died around 1900. I have no real proof of this. My grandmother was Annie Davies. She was born March 25 1893 in Alabama and a younger sister also was born in Alabama in 1895. Her name was Jessie Davies. The oldest child was Mary Davies Cozart b/1880 in England. She lived most of her life in Tulsa Ok. Her husband was William Cozart. Nellie Davies Caton also born in England 1884. she lived all of her adult life in Knox Co Ky and Bell Co Ky. Two brothers Richard and Edward. Edward married Florence, but I never knew her maiden name. Edward and Florence had two children. They show up on the 1920 and 1930 federal census. I have been serching for years but, cannot find much of anything on their arrival to America or my grandmothers birth or marriage. Although I'm sure they arrived in America in 1890. After Eliza died Richard sent the two youngest girls Annie age 7 and Jessie age 5 to live with their sister Nellie and Mary. This much I am sure about, as the show up on the 1910 Ky miracode census for Ky,as living with Nellie and Felix Caton. Annie shows up on the 1910 Federal census as being married age 18 with one child. Her husband, my grandfather was Charles Lasure. If you think this is a connection e-mail me direct and I will send you what I have. jlonigro@adelphia.net
