Joseph Davie served in the South Carolina Line during the Revolutionary war. He applied for a pension on November 7, 1832 in Muscogee County, GA. The pension application states that he enlisted at Camden SC and was living in Waxhaw Settlement. He lived there and in York District, SC until 1812, then moved to Jones County, GA. In 1827 he moved to Muscogee County, GA. The pension application also states that he was born in 1763 at White Haven in England. He married one of the daughters (believed to be Jane)of James Smith and Lillis Patton of York District, SC. I have found him on the 1790 and 1810 York County, SC census, the 1800 Chester County, SC census, and the 1830 Muscogee County, GA census. I have not found him yet on the 1820 census. His wife was a sister to my ancestor. I do not have the names of their children yet.
