Please also see my recent reply your post on the RootsWeb Davidson message board. The R. (Richard) J. (John) Davidson who had John William Davidson (who married Nancy Rutherford Davidson) was a member of "Family 5" on the Davidson/Davison/Davisson DNA website: www.davidsongenes.org. Richard John Davidson was a son of an older Richard Davidson who was born in 1798. You stated in one of your RootsWeb messages that this Nancy Rutherford Davidson was a daughter of "your" Stephen Davidson, and that the "family history" was that Stephen and his daughter Nancy were somehow "blood related" to the John William Davidson who married Nancy (correct)? Note: I sent an e-mail (yesterday) to the DNA donor out of the above Richard John Davidson, and I asked him if he knew how Stephen Davidson and his daughter Nancy were related to his "Richard Davidson line." I have not yet received a response from that donor. As I stated in one of my RootsWeb messages, sans the above information, I had thought that "your" Stephen Davidson MIGHT have been a member of "Family 7" (instead of "Family 5"), since other members of "Family 7" lived near to Cannon Co., KY (in Wilkes and Smith Co., KY). In addition, the name "Stephen" had been used before in "Family 7." A DNA test on a male Davidson from your family, of course, will tell us if either is correct.
