Davidson ancestors from Connecticut

According to my family tree, James Davidson married Elizabeth Treat who was the granddaughter of the territorial governor of Connecticut, Robert Treat. They had five sons, James, Jr., John, Andrew, Joseph and Isaac. James Jr. and Isaac served in the Revolutionary War. My line is descended from James Jr. and migrated to Ohio, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas and Oklahoma. Is there any Davidson line that migrated to the southern US. I have no male relative who would qualify for the DNA test to locate a particular branch of the Davidson family as my father was the last male of our line. Does anyone have a Davidson ancestor from Connecticut? If so is anything known about James Davidson such as was he born in the "colonies" or did he immigrate and from where. Any help would be very much appreciated
