The Alexander Davidson in NC (born 1750s), who was a son of a Joseph and Sarah Davidson of PA, apparently was the man who was known as Captain Alexander Davidson. Captain Alexander Davidson married a Miss Clayton, and we have a living male DNA donor who is out of this couple. This donor's DNA is not a close match to ANYONE else in the testing project at this time...including your uncle's DNA, so this was apparently NOT a branch of your family. Note: The above Captain Alexander Davidson is said to have had two brothers who were killed in the Rev. War.
So, it appears that we can eliminate the above Davidson family from your list of "candidates."
