I think I found your uncle's results. Is his kit number 67625 in Family 17 on the Davidson/Davison/Davisson DNA website? I ran the "report calculation" between your uncle and the 25/25 match (kit 121459...he traces back to a Frderick Davidson (born 1751) who was in Buncombe Co., NC). Your uncle has about a 97% chance of sharing a common male Davidson ancestor with this donor at "16 generations back." A generation is considered to be about 20-25 years. The man who is a 24/25 "match" to your uncle has less than a 80% "odds" at 12 generations back and less than 90% "odds" at 16 generations back. It would be better is all three tests were upgraded to 37 markers, but I am quite confident that you and 121459 are from the same family.
I found an Alexander Davidson in records in Orange Co., NC in the 1750s, and I could never "tie him" to that James Davidson/Mary Bean family in Orange that I mentioned in my earlier post. I always suspected that there was probably yet another Davidson family in that area....and maybe your Joseph Davidson (born circa-1755) was part of that "other" family.
I just found some information on the internet about a Joseph Davidson in Lancaster Co., PA who had a son named Alexander Davidson who was in Orange Co., NC. Maybe Alexander was a brother of your Joseph Davidson (but I have not tried to research this in any detail whatsoever). Comments?
