Richard,
Thanks so much for trying, but I think you picked up some of that information from me, and it's wrong unfortunately.: )
Despite the fact that Margaret and Robert were living with Hannah Cole in the 1850 census, they apparently were not her and Thomas' children.First she would have been awfully old to have them, but more to the point, Margaret Cole's death certificate lists George Allen Cole and Alsie as her parents. Also, Mattie actually was not married to "Major" Jones, but was impregnated by him as a teenager. (I don't know how to show that in Family Tree Maker without having them appear to be married.)Mattie died during childbirth while having my great grandfather Lewis Houston Cole. You can find him living with Hannah in 1850 as a young boy. After Hannah died, he can be found living with Margaret Cole Lawrence in 1860 and William F. Cole in in 1870.
So obviously my primary goal is to try to find out who Thomas and Hannah's children were.If I see a George Allen Cole, at least one problem is solved.
But thanks again for trying.I've since updated my Family Tree file and need to make sure the proper changes are propogated everywhere I've posted it.
