I am researching the davenport's in Knox Co too.I also have some Brown's in my line. Our Aunt Susie Davenport married a Brown, and their are others too. My gg Uncle Adam T. Davenport married Mary Ann Brown.
His father was my ggg grandfather, Thomas Harison Davenport. He was born in 1789 in VA, but married Sarah Thomas, daughter of Adam Thomas, one of the first settlers of Knox Co, in 1829.
I am looking for his parents and date of birth as well as siblings.
Have you run across any of these names.Thomas Harrison and Sarah "Sally" Thomas Davenport's Children were Martha Jane, Henry Campbell, Jacob (m gg grandfather) Thomas H. Jr, John, Susan Catherine, Adam T., and Anna Elizabeth.
Jacob, my gg grandfather, married Elizabeth and had my g grandfather Hugh Ralford as well as Susan (who later became Susie Brown), Matt, Christopher, and Carrie. There are others, I'm sure, but don't know them all.
Many of these people are buried in the Davenport Cemetery off of Davenport Road in Knoxville....close to South Junior High. Thanks to a lady in GA, I have a copy of the plots and headstones.
Can share more details if you think we're a match.
Thanks.

P.S.Do you have any Stanley's in your research?
