Hi;

I live in Newfoundland. My mother's maiden name is Duffenais. We know that we are descended from Jean Frederick Dauphinee who married Mary Anne LeJeune. The name has many forms for sure as I have seen it spelled Duffenais,Duffney and Duphenais even Duphney all within the same family, due to the peculiarites of whichever priest or pastor who was baptizing them I guess.Some were French and some were English.

Have some info to share from my side.
I'm not sure if Dauphinee still exists in Newfoundland but I do know that Duffney and Duffenais still do.

Rhonda
