From Dauphin message board on Ancestry.com on June 22, 2011:
"Mary DAUPHIN, daughter of John C. DAUPHIN (b. Oct. 26, 1821) and Sophie SNIEDER (d. Apr. 12, 1865) married to Peter SPRINGER.
John DAUPHIN b. either in Germany or Prussia and immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1848.
Peter SPRINGER was at Andersonville Prison in Tennessee [TN] during the Civil War.
Peter and Mary SPRINGER had a daughter Gertrude SPRINGER MADDEN." The end.
My notes:
Peter was from Albany, New York [NY]; they had 3 children: Laura M. SPRINGER m. Walter A. COOLEY,
Gertrude C. SPRINGER m. Joseph Francis MADDEN [d. 1909 Rensselaer, NY] and John SPRINGER b 1872.
John R. JORDAN, my 1st cousin once removed, married Walter A. COOLEY's daughter.
