Luella Minnie Daum, the daughter of Henry and Ida Richter Koehlmoos, was born April 16, 1919 at Granville, IA. She was baptized and confirmed and attended parochial school at Germantown, IA.
She was united in marriage to Otto Daum at Germantown on September 15, 1940. They made their home at Pilger, NE until moving to Sutherland, IA in 1967. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church at Sutherland and had been active in Ladies Aid and Concordia Club. For several years she had worked at the Sutherland Lockers and at Millie’s Rest Home and had been a cook at school.
She passed away on February 3, 1988 at Sioux City, IA at the age of 68. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1973, infant twins and one granddaughter, Denise Marie Daum.
Left to cherish her memory are seven sons, Larry and Karla of Emerson, ME, Harley and Jeanne of Staples, MN, Daryl of South Sioux City, NE, Roger and Cindy of Emmetsburg, IA, Loren of Los Angeles, CA, Randall and Brenda of Vine Grove, KY, and Arlen and Renee of Cherokee, IA, three daughters, Judy and Jerry Allvin of Norfolk, NE, Mary and Tom Steffens of Marcus, IA, and Ida and David Rehder of Golden, CO, twenty-one grandchildren, one great granddaughter, three brothers, Burnell of Paullina, IA, and Elwood and Lyle both of Granville, IA, one sister Eleanora (Mrs. Henry Jalas, Jr.) of Sutherland, IA, other relatives and friends.
Services were held February 6, 1988 at Bethel Lutheran Church, Sutherland, IA with Rev. Leroy Riemer officiating. Final Resting Place - Waterman Cemetery, Sutherland, IA.
