Seeking information on the Daughtry family of Bibb County, Georgia. Joseph Griffin Daughtry, Sr. was born about 1860. In a letter in the early 1900's to his grandaughter, he stated that his father had been one of the largest landholders in that county prior to the war (Civil) and that the father had owned many slaves. J. Griffin, as he was called, was married to Lida Jordan (pronounced Jerdan) about 1890 in Georgia; they lived in Macon and then moved to New York City. J. Griffin was in the insurance business. He and Lida had three children; Kathleen who married George R. Genung, Sr.; Nell who married and divorced several times; and J. Griffin, Jr. who married and had a daughter, Muriel (to whom the letter was written). Would also like to find out information about Muriel. J. Griffin, Sr. died in New York, date unknown.
