I don't know if this will help, it is a stumbling block for me too. I have information on Jordan Nathan Daugherty. He married a Mary Henrietta Hammond. They had many children, Henrietta was one of them. The story goes like this; When Mary died he gave all his children to her sisters. He then proceeded to the gold rush. The one sister is Elya Hammond who married a John Law, and the other sister married some one named Mitchells. They lived in Washington Courthouse while Mary was alive. I have no idea where the sisters were.I know they had their first child in Pennsylvania. I hope this was of some help. The approximate dates are 1830-1850.
