You might try the Denton,Denton County, Tx. area. It's very close to Montague county. There were a lot of Daugherty's from Denton, Tx. I have several in my family from that time period. Guy,Daniel Boone, Stephen,Glen,Attis,Ella,Lois, Blanche Daugherty born and lived in the Denton/Seymore/Montague counties. The Frys and Daughertys originally migrated from NC to the denton area in the 1840's & 50's.The Denton County Genological Society will probably have a lot of info. Hope this helps.
