This is an old threat, but Rebecca Elizabeth Daughenbaugh is my 3rd great grandmother. She married my grandfather Fredrick Rachau. They seperated as she was living with another man while he was serving in the 12th Iowa during the Civil War. That's why the Stephenson history says she is now Mrs. Deemer/Mrs. Joseph Diemer. Two of their three kids were in the Soldiers orphanage in Cedar Falls Iowa in 1870, to include my 2nd great grandmother Minerva Rachau Oakes.I am trying to learn when and where Rebecca died.I have not had much luck with the Jennings LA lead.Although, I see her two brothers (William J. & Samuel A. lived in Calcasieu, LA in 1900/1910).I do have Samuel's original CDV (picture) that he had made in Chicago in 1862 when he was First Sergeant of the 93rd Illinois Infanty.I too am not that far from Freeport, and would enjoy meeting more of the family.
