I have been using my US Census Online subscription for over a year without any problems. Now, however, when I go to a census image and click "Save Image As", it brings up the image on the next screen, but the only option is to save it as a .bmp as it is displayed on this screen. When I click "Save Image As", there is no "Save As" option box as there usually is so that I can save the file as a smaller .tif file. I double-checked my file associations and .tif/.tiff are set to open as 'Microsoft Office Document Imaging File' as it has been in the past. I haven't made any changes to my computer recently. I'm using IE7 and Norton 360; I even disabled Norton just to make sure that wasn't the culprit. Re-booting hasn't helped either.
I'm logged on to the website and genealogy.com and heritagequestonline.com are "allowed" in my trusted sites. I don't know what else to check. My next thought is to try a different browser, but I didn't want to take that step if it wasn't necessary since I know that IE has worked in the past. Any suggestions?
