Maria Da Silva & Stephen PALMER m. 1811

Mt Gt Gt Gt Grandfather, Stephen PALMER was a
British soldier in Portugal during the
Peninsular Wars 1808-14. He married Maria
in about 1811 as she had her lst son, also a
Stephen in 1812. The family believe Maria
came from Elvas or Evera in Portugal, close to Badajoz over the Spanish border by only 6
miles. Stephen and Maria are buried in the churchyard at Burwell, Cambridgeshire, U.K.
I am curious as to whether there are any Da Silva descendants on this forum who may be
connected to Maria!
