Ola! Lynn!
Earlier I had said that no trace was made of Jose Gomes da Silva (1854-1933). I was dead wrong and not aware of my own cache of info! He was the half-brother of Joaquim Gomes da Silva and had married Mary Ayres Cambra (1871-1956) in Honolulu on 9 Apr 1893. They had eight children: Adele (William W) Marshall; Olympia Lucille (Francis Clark Soares)(Roy Ernest Bowman); Joseph Jr (Henrietta Rasmussen); Jennie Euphegenia (Harold Brown Doolittle) (George Andrew Vonderschmidt); Albertina Vivian (Frank) Cunha; Hannibal Paul (Irene Duarte)(Maude Keala Cockett); David Peter (Julia Pierce Estabrook);and Ayres V Da Silva of Woburn,
Massachusetts. That is a lot of cousins to
track down for the two of us.
