John DaSylva came to Newburgh from San Domingo in 1795 after an outbreak of slave insurrection with a 'French gentleman' named John Joseph Alexis Robert and DaSylva's wife M.A. Duliepyre. We need an obituary and/or family information in order to re-publish the biographical cemetery record.
