Linda,

I am trying to learn more about the Benjamin/James/Christopher Darrow line in TN.
My farthest back ancestor is Jesse Darrow, b. ca. 1809 in TN. My first
record of him is in the Springfield (MO) Land Office where he and a Benjamin Darrow
(a brother or cousin?) have purchased land in 1840.

Jesse settled in Jasper Co., MO and is found there in the 1850 and 1860 censuses.
He apparently died during the Civil War. His wife's name is Mary (b. 1813 TN) and
their children are:

James, Samuel, Mary E., Frances M., Jasper A., Amanda, Jesse T. and Minerva.
From the birthdate of the eldest, I surmise they were married in TN about 1832.

In early TN records, there are Benjamin and James and, later, Christopher. I'm
guessing that Jesse was a son of James and that James was a son of or brother
of Benjamin, the Rev. War veteran from CT.

Can you help me with this family? I'm in TN, so I've got access to lots of county
records, but can't seem to sort all these Darrows out.

Michele
Knoxville, TN
