Darrah could be either as is true with the other variations. They are found in Ulster (North Ireland) but remember the English settled large numbers of Scottish families in what was called Irish Plantations in Ulster. I haven't traced anything on back to Scotland. When these people came to America they were callled Scotch-Irish and were usually Protestant in religion.
