Hi Liz, Thanks for your posting. I was notified of it by e-mail or I would have missed it, at least for a while. Robert married Eunice Blood after loosing Jean, his first wife. Eunice is buried right next to Robert and Jean is located in the same cemetary after her grave site was washed out by a shift in the river, but she was retrieved and reburied. Eunice had two children of her own by Robert, your Samuel was David's older brother. David is my great great grandfather. His son, also Robert born in 1797 is my great grandfather. My grandfather, James was too old to be drafted in the Civil War as was my father, Carl in WWI. Robert's younger brother Hiram changed his name to Darrow as apparantly his father, David also did. Hiram is buried up in Northern Michigan, but I have lost track of David, wo apparently did some land deals in Southern Michigan. Anyhow the birthdates of Samuel and Sophia's children are recorded in the Litchfield town records at the city hall. I have the exact page and info in our home up in Menlo Park, CA, however we spend the winter months here in Rancho Mirage in the desert near Palm Springs, playing golf and soaking up sunshine. You or anyone else is welcome to contact me at jgd5@aol.com and I will be happy to dig out more detail when we return up to the Bay area. Jimmy
