My gr-grandmother was a Darrah. Our family history has been that we are Scots-Irish, leaving Scotland to settle on the Ulster Plantation. In the early 1700s the story is that our family immigrated from Derry to the States for better opportunities and for freedom of relgious expression (they were Presbyterian and seemed to have had a minister or two in each generation).
